"Britain’s largest labor union urged 'concerted and sustained pressure upon Israel,' including 'an economic, cultural, academic and sporting boycott,' to force its withdrawal from Palestinian areas.

"The union, called Unison and grouping 1.3 million public service employees, also called on the British government to oppose the sale of arms to Israel. The calls were made in a motion approved at Unison’s annual conference in Brighton demanding the creation of a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza with its capital in Jerusalem The resolution followed similar calls for pressure on Israel from British labor unions representing journalists and college teachers.
